Supreme Champion Huacaya Fleece at International Fleece Show 2008
Forestglen Seth was awarded Supreme Champion Huacaya Fleece at the first International Fleece Show, held in Sydney, Australia in March 2008. A wonderful award in its’ own right but for a medium fawn alpaca, this is truly an outstanding achievement.
Mid side sample: 16.8 microns, 2.9 SD, 17.2% C of V and a CF of 100%
Competing amongst 478 fleeces from all around the world, Forestglen Seth’s fleece scored a total of 90 points and impressed the judges for it’s style and uniformity, and sheer luxury of softness. This was a fantastic achievement for a medium fawn alpaca under the judging eyes of Jill Macleod (Canada) and Cameron Holt (Australia).
This was Forerstglen Seth’s second fleece, shorn in November 2007, at the age of 20 months. The award winning fleece was later shipped to New Zealand where it has been mounted in a glass case for display at Waratah Flats Alpaca Stud.
